4th Avenue Beach: Welcome, new West Seattle Blog sponsor!

Today we welcome 4th Avenue Beach as a new WSB sponsor, which means they have the opportunity to show you what they’re all about:

You Know Alki. Now Meet Seattle’s Indoor Beach.

West Seattle knows beach life. But once the rain starts, the days get shorter, and Seattle settles into its long gray season; beach can start to feel a world away. 4th Avenue Beach keeps it going all year long.

4th Avenue Beach is an indoor facility with five sand volleyball courts and three pickleball courts, built around a simple idea: create a place where people can play, compete, learn, and connect year-round. Since opening, we’ve welcomed more than 6,000 players through our doors—from serious beach volleyball players to people picking up a pickleball paddle for the first time. You don’t need to be a member, and you don’t need to arrive with a group. Open plays, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and court rentals give people lots of ways to jump in.

And while volleyball may be what you first picture when you hear “indoor beach,” there’s a lot more happening in the sand. We have pickleball, youth beach volleyball clinics and camps, sand conditioning, and Lil’ Diggers, where kids ages 0–5 can dig and play in the sand while parents get a break from finding another rainy-day activity.

The facility also has an indoor lounge and can be booked for birthday parties, team celebrations, corporate events and private gatherings—with the option to add volleyball or pickleball to the party.

Matt and Serena are the owners of 4th Avenue Beach. Outdoor sports used to be seasonal in Seattle, where you see your friends in the summer peak months. Come winter, we hibernate. Now, we get to see our friends and community year-round! One of our favorite things about 4th Ave Beach has been watching the community grow. This is a second home to many of our players and an extended living room to many families. Some people come in knowing exactly what they want to play; others walk in having never played beach volleyball or pickleball before. Either way, the goal is the same: make it easy to get on a court, meet people and play.

We’re at 5930 4th Ave. S. in Georgetown. So when Alki weather isn’t cooperating, come try Seattle’s indoor beach instead. No membership required. Just come play. Check out our events calendar at www.4thavebeach.com and see you at the beach!

We thank 4th Avenue Beach for choosing to advertise their facility by sponsoring independent, community-collaborative neighborhood news on WSB. Interested in joining our sponsor team too? Please email [email protected] for information – thank you!
