Saturday’s third edition of a No Kings march in Seattle brought out crowds to Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park and plenty of protest and creativity as demonstrators showed they have the energy to continue to speak out against the exhaustingly autocratic Donald Trump.

National organizers from the 50501 and Indivisible groups claimed Saturday was “the largest single-day nationwide demonstrations in U.S. history” with “at least 8 million people gathered today at more than 3,300 events across all 50 states, and almost every continent.”

Seattle’s first No Kings march from Capitol Hill last summer was one of the largest gatherings in the state since a sea of people stretched miles from Cal Anderson for the Women’s March in 2018.

Saturday’s march coincided with the start of cross-lake service on Sound Transit’s 2 Line and the new Judkins Park Station.
