  • E Pike vape shop tussle: The Seattle Police Department says two officers were injured making an arrest in an overnight assault early Tuesday morning at an E Pike business. Police were called to World of Smoke and Vape around 4:15 AM after a report of an employee dragging the suspect from the 24-hour smoke shop. SPD says officers “established probable cause” to arrest the suspect for assault. “During the arrest, the suspect resisted and fought with the police officers but was eventually taken into custody,” SPD reports. The fight left the suspect and the officers injured. Police say the suspect received medical attention at the scene and was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault. Two officers also went to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries, SPD says.
  • Monday morning gunfire: Last call gunfire brought police to Pike/Pine early Monday where officers found a blood trail but no victims. According to police, a 911 caller reported the single shot was fired from a moving car just before 2:30 AM. “Officers responded and were told that three men in a vehicle had been parked, made a U-turn to drive WB on E Pike St, and the passenger fired a single shot into the air before leaving NB on Broadway,” SPD reports. According to East Precinct radio reports, an officer found a blood trail on the E Pike sidewalk but it was not clear if it was related to the shooting. No victims were located, police found no shell casing or property damage, and there were no reported arrests. The SPD Real Time Crime Center was reviewing video from traffic cameras in the area to identify the suspect vehicle.
  • 10th Ave gun and hate threat: Police investigated after a driver reportedly pointed a gun at a woman’s head and was shouting slurs in an incident on 10th Ave outside Neumos Friday night:
At 1830 hours, community members called 911 to report a man in a car shouting anti-Trans, anti-Black, and anti-Jewish slurs to people outside of a bar in the 1400 block of 10th Ave. When the RP/victim confronted him and filmed him, the suspect displayed a handgun, pointing it at the head of a woman seated in her car outside the premise before fleeing.
CHS has asked SPD if there has been an arrest in the case and will update when we hear back.
  • Felon busted with gun, drugs, and money: Police were called to an undisclosed East Precinct location Wednesday after a caller reported spotting the suspect in an assault. Officers arrived at the 11:37 AM call and took the suspect into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers recovered a firearm, cash, fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine. The suspect subsequently was found to be a convicted felon from another state for past narcotic charges with firearms. He was booked King County Jail.
  • 24th/Main gunfire: There were no injuries and no property damage after gunfire Thursday night near 24th Ave and Main. Police were called to the Central District location around 9:40 PM and found shell casings at the scene. There were no arrests.
