911 | SPD investigating 16th Ave stabbing — UPDATE: Garfield bomb threat

  • 16th Ave stabbing: A man suffered critical injuries in a stabbing and the alleged assailant was arrested Thursday night on 16th Ave. SPD reports the stabbing took place during an altercation between the 58-year-old victim and his assailant in the 1100 block of 16th Ave around 6 PM Thursday:
    When officers arrived, they found the victim in a parking lot with multiple stab wounds to the torso and arm. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
    According to police, the 25-year-old suspect was located nearby with a self-inflected laceration to his hand and taken into custody. The suspect was taken to Harborview for treatment before his arrest. SPD is asking anyone with additional information to call the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
    
  • Madrona gunfire: Police investigated gunfire in Madrona Monday night. SPD was called to the area of 32nd Ave and E Olive St to reported gunfire from a vehicle around 9:45 PM. Arriving officers found shell casings but not reported victims or damage. Police say the suspect vehicle was described as a large, white SUV.
  • UPDATE — Garfield bomb threat: Garfield High School students spent Friday afternoon cleared from buildings after what officials said was an email bomb threat targeting the 23rd Ave campus. Seattle Police Department responded “to conduct a thorough search of the campus,” Garfield’s message to families after the incident said, but nothing was located.
  • UPDATE: E Roy building fire: Seattle Fire responded to a building fire Friday afternoon in the 300 block of E Roy:At 1:29 p.m., on April 3, 2026, the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls reporting a fire in a residential building in the 300 block of E. Roy St. The fire was reported in a unit on the fifth floor of the six-story building. Firefighters reported the fire started near the washer and dryer and extended into the unit. There was no fire extension into surrounding units. Crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the space.

    The reported address of the response was to the Velo building at 301 E Roy. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.

  • UPDATE: Summit Ave building fire: Seattle Fire also responded to a building fire reported just before 4 PM in the 1700 block of Summit inside the Curben Hotel apartment building. According to emergency radio updates, the responding crew was able to put out the fire in a second floor unit with a pump can. Damage was limited and there were no reported injuries.
