Celebrate Jane Jacobs with ‘One Bag, No Car: Daily Life on Capitol Hill’ tour

An annual celebration of the walking spirit of Jane Jacobs includes a Capitol Hill area trek this weekend.

The Jane’s Walk Festival from statewide pedestrian advocacy group Feet First is organizing a series of walks this spring including Saturday’s One Bag, No Car: Daily Life on Capitol Hill tour. The walk, in true neighborhood form, will include public transit:

Join Capitol Hill resident Curtis Atkisson for a 3-mile walk starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Capitol Hill light rail station north entry (Broadway and John Street). Over about 2 hours, walkers will explore the geography of daily life on Capitol Hill without a car, from places where errands and mobility are easy to places where distance, hills, unsafe crossings, or missing amenities make ordinary life harder than it should be. Expect hills and a short transit ride.

You can register for the free walk here.

Feet First is sponsoring multiple walks in the area over the next few weeks including Sunday’s Discover First Hill Seattle.
