Madison Valley commercial building damaged in overnight fire
Firefighters battled a stubborn fire in the upper floors of a Madison Valley commercial building overnight.
Seattle Fire says there was no injuries despite damage. The cause is under investigation.
911 calls reported flames coming from the third story of the 2700-block E Madison building around 3:30 AM. Crews began battling the fire while searching the commercial building for any occupants.
The fire was declared extinguished by 5:30 AM, according to SFD.
The building was the longtime home of the Essential Bakery at its street level. The Corner Delights business that had take over the bakery space has been recently listed as “temporarily closed.” Along with other street level businesses, the building’s upper floors are home to a collection of therapy and counseling practices.
Seattle Fire confirmed there were no injuries reported in the blaze. The Seattle Fire Marshal was called to investigate the incident and determine a cause.
