GIVING: West Seattle Rotary’s Pencil Me In For Kids gets supplies to four local schools

Whenever they return to class, students at four local public schools will have basic supplies thanks to the Rotary Club of West Seattle (WSB sponsor) and community donors. Rotary members collected supplies for their Pencil Me In For Kids drive again this summer, and have sorted and delivered them – the club provided photos from their stop at Sanislo Elementary:

Other schools accepting donated supplies this year were Roxhill, Highland Park, and Arbor Heights Elementaries.
PMIFK’s founder, Sue Lindblom, says:

What was popular a year or two ago now isn’t even on their lists. School needs change so much from year to year. However, the two constant items requested are glue sticks and pink erasers. Those are the only items that are always in high demand.

West Seattle Rotary wants to thank West Seattle Thriftway and Fauntleroy Church for being locations where donations were once again accepted in July for the supply drive. Community members who support fund raisers WS Rotary sponsors during the year like Bingo Night and theme-decorated Christmas trees goes to helping many projects such as this Pencil Me in for Kids project, college scholarships, clean water projects in countries like Guatemala, and many community projects in West Seattle.
