CLOSURE ALERT
Overnight tonight, WSDOT will close the Highway 99 tunnel both ways. Here’s the announcement:
From 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 to 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3:
Both directions of SR 99 from north of South Spokane Street to south of Raye Street will close.
The Royal Brougham Way/Colorado Avenue South on-ramp to the northbound SR 99 tunnel will close.
The Sixth Avenue North on-ramp to the southbound SR 99 tunnel will close.
Lanes will begin closing at 8:30 p.m. People using southbound SR 99 will exit at the Harrison Street off-ramp, and people using northbound SR 99 will exit at Alaskan Way South.Washington State Department of Transportation tunnel maintenance crews will perform fire systems testing, light repairs, road sweeping and drain cleaning during this closure.
TRANSIT TODAY
Washington State Ferries – The Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route is on the three-boat schedule (until next Monday, October 5, when it goes to two boats for a month). Check the alert page for last-minute changes.
Metro buses – Regular weekday schedule today – any reroute/stop advisories will be here.
West Seattle Water Taxi – Regular summer schedule, with later night runs Fridays and Saturdays through next Friday (October 9th).
