The merchants of 15th Ave E are also scaring up lots of Hilloween spirit this year. The neighborhood’s businesses have announced they will host a special 15th Ave E extension of the area’s annual trick or treating hot zone in the streets of North Capitol Hill near Volunteer Park.

15th Ave E’s restaurants, shops, and businesses are working together for a night of trick or treating on Saturday, October 31st starting at 4 PM. The plan is to have candy for trick-or-treaters with free jack-o-lantern buckets and maps at participating businesses. You can find the roster of participating businesses and more details here.

Just a short walk from the popular Capitol Hill trick or treating areas around 16th Ave E and 17th Ave E, the 15th Ave E celebration will be part of day of expanded Hilloween fun in 2026.

CHS reported here on the revival of the annual Hilloween carnival and trick or treating across Broadway and Pike/Pine also taking place this year.

Enterprising candy collectors can plan a route that starts in Pike/Pine early in the day, winds through Broadway, and then up to 15th before topping off their buckets in the trick or treat hot zone.

The Halloween Pet Parade organized by the Volunteer Park Trust has already kicked off the season on Capitol Hill. Here are some pictures from this year’s parade. Happy Hilloween!
