WEST SEATTLE HALLOWEEN: Nightfall Charity Haunt is open tonight and beyond

Tonight’s Halloween spotlight is for a home that’s far more than merely “decorated”:

Nightfall Charity Haunt in West Seattle (nightfallhalloween.com) is now celebrating its 10th season. What started as a neighborhood curiosity built in a few tents atop a gravel driveway on Alki has grown into an over-4,000-square-foot, professional-level neighborhood haunted attraction just down the street from the West Seattle Junction. In that time, Nightfall has raised well over 5,000 lbs of food for the West Seattle Food Bank and over $30,000 for Washington’s National Park Fund.

Designed and built by veterans of the theme park and Halloween industries, Nightfall centers on environmental storytelling, drawing guests into its original world and lore. Unlike a traditional haunt focused on jump scares every 10 feet, Nightfall is a dark fantasy walk-through adventure for those with a sense of shadowy wonder, but rest assured, there are plenty of screams along the way. Perfect for families, first-time haunters, and seasoned Halloween fans alike, Nightfall offers an adventure that balances beauty, mystery, and just the right amount of things that go bump in the night.

Nightfall also offers Little Frights, the first hour each night (5:30 to 6:30 p.m.), made for kids, nervous adults, and first-time haunters. The lights are brighter, the animatronics are off, and there are no Nightcrawlers (actors) and no jump scares. Tickets allow unlimited entries per night, so guests can re-enter the queue as many times as they like. Many timid first-timers and children test the waters with Little Frights and then dive in for the full Nightfall experience, going through multiple times. Guests who need extra courage can pick up a Bastion wand, a light-up wand that combines the dream magic of The Bastion (from Nightlore) and the power of the user’s own courage to make Nightcrawlers (actors) shrink away or become friendly. Wands are available during regular Nightfall hours while supplies last.

Guests who love story and want to know about the world of Nightfall can discover the Nightlore on the website.
