Police say they have taken a 31-year-old man into custody in Bellevue for the stabbing murder of a 19-year-old University of Washington student.

The Bellevue Police Department reported they took the man into custody Wednesday night after Seattle Police released photos of the suspect earlier that day.

The Seattle Gay News reports the student found murdered Sunday night in the laundry room of an apartment near campus was a “presumed Transgender woman” and that identification was pending notification of kin.

The man was held in jail overnight awaiting his first appearance court to determine if there is probable cause for his arrest.
