BIZNOTES: Skin Care by Casey, Mo’s Dough, CVS

Three biznotes for West Seattle (and beyond):

SKIN CARE BY CASEY & YOU DESERVE THIS: While proprietor Casey says she’s closing her longtime namesake business Skin Care by Casey at the end of this month, she says she has a separate, growing retail business to focus on: You Deserve This. She launched it as an “online live-selling business” two years ago, added in-person shopping last spring, and says, “The community has warmly embraced the experience, and the business continues to grow at 3235 California Avenue SW.” Casey adds, “You Deserve This offers women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories from contemporary, premium, and designer brands at significant discounts off retail prices. Most merchandise is new with tags, including current styles available from major retailers such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Saks & Macy’s.”

MO’S DOUGH UPDATE: We told you last month about the new pizza business at Distinguished Foods (4611 36th SW). Proprietor Mo sends an update:

-Starting this weekend, we’re open three days: Friday 5 to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday noon to 9 pm.

– You can walk up and order on your phone for the next open time, as long as there are pies left. No longer just pre-order.

– Two new pies: the Orto ($24, image at right), with cream, pesto, and sautéed onion, and the Sautéed Onion ($23).

Mo also notes that if you want to eat your pizza right after it’s baked, there’s “a covered, heated outdoor dining area around the corner from the entrance.”

CVS SPLIT: With three drugstores in West Seattle, CVS‘s big news is worth noting. The megacorporation is splitting, and its pharmacies will be a separate business. As to how customers will be affected; here’s the official company news release, which says this will take a year-plus to finalize, and says, “As an independent company, CVS Pharmacy will continue to expand the services provided by its nearly 30,000 pharmacists and pursue a wider set of partnerships across the healthcare system, including with payers, pharmacy benefit managers and manufacturers …”
