Capitol Hill Community Post | Help shape the Capitol Hill Community Council
From the Capitol Hill Community Council
The Capitol Hill Community Council continues to plug along on its mission of connecting the community. The next meeting, April 22nd, will be the first Community Governance meeting since the CHCC redid its bylaws. The Community Governance meetings are a way to let regular members discuss topics, recommend changes and actions for the Capitol Hill Community Council to advocate, research and assist. You can find out more about the Community Governance meetings here.

The CHCC is an all volunteer run organization that works on connecting the community – residents, businesses – everyone. The group restarted in Sept 2024. The CHCC is not part of the city. It hosts monthly First Thursday Happy Hours – (Last Drop May 7 5-7pm) and the occasional political debate (13 things CHS heard at the Capitol Hill Community Council/First Hill Improvement Association Mayoral Debate: Broadway Crisis Care Center, Pike/Pine gun violence, and electric scooters)
The CHCC is also looking for volunteers to help run the CHCC. We are accepting self-nominations here for election to the board. The 11 person board helps set direction, find speakers and help the various CHCC committees. Elections will be held the end of May.
The meeting will be April 22nd 6:30 at Seattle Central College Room 1111/1110 (map). Meetings are usually the fourth Wednesday. In addition to the Community Governance discussions Cascade Bicycle Club will also be giving a presentation.
Meetings are usually hybrid. We are looking for someone to help in the running of the remote session. If you are free the 4th Wednesday of the month and are interested please let us know [email protected] You could be remote and don’t have to be in the room.
