FOLLOWUP: Southwest Precinct leads the way on DEA/SPD Drug Take-Back Day
Saturday we stopped by the Southwest Precinct during the twice-yearly Drug Take-Back Day, organized by the DEA in partnership with SPD. They had already filled two boxes with containers of medication turned in for disposal, in the early going. The precinct was one of four dropoff spots around the city, and Crime Prevention Coordinator Jennifer Satterwhite says SW led the way in the final totals:
Thank you to our communities for safely disposing of your drugs this past weekend. Here are our final numbers :
SW Precinct : 116.6 pounds
North Precinct : 81.8 pounds
South Precinct : 25 pounds
East Precinct : 9.1 poundsOur next event will be in April; keep an eye out for announcements.
