The entire staff of the home of West Seattle history – the Southwest Seattle Historical Society‘s executive director Elizabeth Rudrud and program coordinator Oli Castañon Villa – visited Mechanics Bank in The Junction (4022 SW Alaska; WSB sponsor) this afternoon to accept a gift – a $5,000 grant from Mechanics. Vice president and branch manager Bob Livingston said it’s in honor of the SWSHS new Log House Museum exhibit “Beyond Alki” as well as the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary. The museum at 3003 61st SW is open to the public noon-4 pm Thursdays and Fridays, 10 am-4 pm Saturdays.
