Meet Hollingsworth’s 2026 team: Altshuler, Harris, Park, and Yonan

Team Hollingsworth: Hollingsworth, Altshuler, Harris, Park, and Yonan

As District 3’s representative Joy Hollingsworth tackles her first challenges leading the Seattle City Council, she has a new team backing her up.

A new hire for 2026 will bring strategic advising for community relations to Hollingsworth’s office.

Hollingsworth announced Karinda Harris has joined in the advisor role and remains the principal at The Harris Connection, “a venture focused on social capital, strategic connection and authentic engagement.” Hollingsworth says Harris grew up around Beacon Hill and the Central District and worked previously as a community relations manager at Vulcan Real Estate, New Seasons Market, and the City of Seattle.

Harris joins Hollingsworth veterans including Alex Altshuler who serves as director of operations, leveraging experience in civic engagement and non-profit fundraising. Her background includes conducting digital equity research for the Seattle Information Technology Department.

Hollingsworth’s current policy director is Nina Park who previously served as policy director for former Councilmember Tanya Woo. She has held roles in two mayoral administrations and various city departments. Prior to working in local government, Park “was a bartender for many years and bartended in Italy and Amsterdam to fund her travels in Europe,” Hollingsworth says.

Finally, Cameron Yonan brings experience from managing legislative affairs, lobbying, and community organizing in Wisconsin to join Hollingsworth’s staff as District Director. They joined the Seattle City Council team from the Wisconsin State Assembly and from GSAFE, an LGBTQ+ education nonprofit.

CHS reported here on Hollingsworth’s ascension this year to lead the city’s legislative body as council president as a new, more progressive mix takes shape at City Hall.

Tuesday afternoon put her leadership to the test with a protest against ICE led by former D3 rep Kshama Sawant forcing Hollingsworth to call a recess to restore order in council chambers and continue the day’s session.
