Man found stabbed to death in Capitol Hill apartment identified as Medical Examiner confirms homicide

The Seattle Police Department’s investigation of a man found stabbed to death inside a Capitol Hill apartment Tuesday is officially a murder case.

The King County Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide and says 39-year-old Jeremiah Hilbert died from multiple stab wounds. Police said they were launching a homicide investigation as medical investigators worked to determine “the cause and manner of death.”

CHS reported here as SPD detectives gathered evidence form inside the Melrose Court Apartments near Melrose and E Olive Way. According to East Precinct radio updates, a friend discovered blood inside the apartment and called 911.

SPD said Wednesday morning it does not have information about a suspect or the circumstances of the killing.

Hilbert was a second floor resident of the apartments and lived in Seattle for years after travel following his move from Kansas City. According to his social media, Hilbert has worked a brand representative at area grocery stores, an events photographer, and an astro-cartographer.
