  • Cal Anderson pick-up robbery: Police were investigating after a pick-up basketball game on the court at Cal Anderson Park turned nasty Sunday when two players pulled guns on their opponents. According to the SPD brief on the 5:30 PM incident, two players told police they had finished a game and said they were done playing when their opponents strongly objected to the end of the night’s competition:
The suspects reacted angrily and threatened to take their portable speaker, claiming they would shoot the victims if they did not comply. One suspect grabbed the speaker, prompting the victims to defend themselves, leading to a physical altercation with one of the suspects. At that point, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at one of the victims, threatening to shoot. The victims, fearing for their safety, backed away. The second suspect then pulled out another handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victims.
Police say the suspects were last seen headed toward Broadway. There were no arrests and no reported injuries.
  • Belmont gunfire: Sunday night also included a shots fired investigation. Police were called Belmont Ave just before 11 PM to the report of a single gunshot during an argument between two men. Police arrived and located a single shell casing but could not locate the two men. There were no arrests and no reported injuries.
  • First Hill road rage stabbing: A man suffered life-threatening injuries and a woman is in jail after police say the victim was stabbed in the neck during a Wednesday afternoon road rage incident on First Hill that started with a confrontation on I-5. According to the SPD report, the just before 3 PM stabbing incident began on I-5:
Police determined that the road rage incident originated on the I-5 freeway and continued until it reached 7th and Madison. There, the suspect exited her vehicle and got into a verbal altercation with the victim, who also exited his car. During the incident, the suspect, who initiated the altercation, retreated back to her vehicle as the victim approached her, continuing to argue with her. As he reached her driver’s side window, the suspect thrust a knife, described as a “multi-tool” into his neck, seriously injuring him.
Police say the victim staggered in the street but was able to flag down a passing ambulance crew who began to render aid until Seattle Fire arrived and transported the 51-year-old to Harborview. Police say they took the 44-year-old suspect into custody at the scene and she was booked into jail for investigation of assault.
  • Van assault arrest: Police were called to Broadway and Pike Tuesday just before 8 PM where a pedestrian reported a woman had tried to run her over with a Sprinter van during an argument. Police report the victim said she was able to “jump out of the way for the most part” but sustained minor injuries to her arm. Seattle Fire was called to the scene to provide treatment. Officers found the suspect driver parked nearby and arrested her for assault.
  • MLK drive-by: Police investigated after a 911 caller reported he had been robbed and shot at along MLK Way near Judkins Park Monday. As SPD responded to the just before 5:30 PM incident after the caller reported the gunfire and robbery, a different 911 caller reported they were driving on MLK and had just struck a person running across the street. Police reviewed home security video from the area and reported a gunman in a vehicle opened fire on a group of people on the sidewalk but nobody was hit. The video also showed a person fleeing the gunfire struck by a car as they ran across MLK. Police were unable to locate any victims and the suspect vehicle was not located. There were no arrests. At least one vehicle was reported damaged by the gunfire.
  • Harborview beating investigation: Police were beginning their investigation on a terrible assault reported Tuesday at Harborview after a 60-year-old woman said she was severely beaten by her adult son in a dispute over money and social media:
At 1631 hours, a call came out at Harborview Medical Center. Hospital staff called on behalf of a 60-year-old female who had been severely beaten by her adult son early Sunday morning. The victim’s son was infatuated with a Chinese Tik-Tok star and became irate when the victim told him she would no longer give him money to send to the TikTok star in China. The son fractured multiple of his mother’s ribs; caused her intestinal bleeding; and strangled her until she was unconscious. The victim was eventually able to drive herself to HMC before passing out.
SPD reports officers checked the suspect’s Seattle apartment but he was not located. “The son likely fled to China in a further attempt to meet the Tik-Tok star,” SPD reports.
  • Seattle Fire calls: Seattle Fire quickly handled an apartment fire in an E Fir building last Friday afternoon. SFD says a wire in the wall of a unit in the multifamily building at 12th and Fir was to blame. Damage was limited to the unit and there were no reported injuries. Meanwhile, SFD also handled a residential kitchen fire Monday before Thanksgiving that damaged a single family residence in the 2400 block of E Valley. There were no reported injuries. Inclement weather has also increased the number of illegal burns reported to SFD. In the past week, Seattle Fire responded to illegal burn calls at Broadway and Pike, Miller Park, Broadway at Thomas, 16th and Harrison, Pike and Melrose, E Olive and Belmont, 9th Ave on First Hill, and outside the Capitol Hill Safeway.
  • First Hill drug car bust: Police reported they recovered drugs and cash after investigating a suspicious car with expired tabs on First Hill last week. SPD reports police “doing proactive patrols” near Harvard Avenue and Spring found two people inside the vehicle with expired car tabs and a shattered driver’s side window:
The driver appeared to be nodding off with a glass narcotics pipe in his hand and a second glass pipe sticking out of his coat pocket with “obvious burned narcotic residue.”Officers arrested the driver for narcotics possession and recovered:
    • 9.2g Fentanyl
    • 7.3g Xanax
    • 1.2g Methamphetamine
    • 0.5g Cocaine
    • $253 Cash
    • Approximately 70 plastic baggies
    • Two scales

SPD reports the two suspects were arrested and booked for “Sale/Delivery of Synthetic Narcotics.”
