Seattle Police and Seattle Fire were called to the are of Pine and Belmont around 10:20 PM to the reported shooting.
It was not immediately clear if the shooting was connected to a disturbance reported minutes earlier at the same location involving someone threatening to shoot a man making threats with a box cutter.
Officers were reported performing CPR on the person shot until Seattle Fire arrived and took over the scene.
At least two people were reported in custody and a firearm was reported recovered at the scene.
SPD said the man had been shot multiple times.
Pine between Belmont and Summit was reported closed to traffic during the response and investigation.
