Police investigate shooting after man reportedly dropped gun — and possibly shot himself — at Capitol Hill’s Melrose Market

Police were searching for a man who may have possibly shot himself when his firearm went off at Capitol Hill’s busy Melrose Market Saturday morning.
Seattle Police was called to the Market and the reported shooing around 11 AM.
According to emergency radio updates, arriving officers recovered a single shell casing from what was believed to have been an AR-style pistol.
Video evidence and the lack of damage around breakfast sandwich joint Eggslut near where the shooting took place suggested to police that the suspect may have dropped the weapon and accidentally shot himself in the incident.
A witness account posted to social media described a similar scenario.
According to radio updates, police were looking for a group of two women and two men reportedly involved in the shooting and a blue Tesla they may have left the scene in.
Police were checking area hospitals including nearby Harborview but no recent gunshot wound victims were reported.
