‘Trans refugee crisis’ rally planned for Cal Anderson
A Seattle group calling itself MANTIS — Mutual Aid Network for Trans and Intersex individuals in Seattle — will hold a rally Sunday in Cal Anderson Park to bring attention to what it is calling a growing “trans refugee crisis.”
“As the political climate heats up nationally, bills targeting transgender people nationally have led to tens of thousands of refugees fleeing to Seattle,” the group said in its announcement,. “Local transgender organizations only expect this number to increase with each passing year.”
This weekend’s rally is being organized by advocate Rose Legionaires and will start at 2 PM Sunday, February 15th in Cal Anderson.
