Seattle Fire battles electrical fire in 10th and Union building home to artists and galleries
Seattle Fire battled a reported electrical fire inside a Capitol Hill auto row-era commercial building home to a collection of artists and small businesses at 10th and Union overnight.
The fire was reported on the first floor of the two story, 1911-era building just after 1:30 AM Tuesday.
SFD reported the fire was out after about a 30-minute fight and said the fire was kept from spreading from the unit where it began.
The building is home to projects including the Passable art gallery, Pound Arts, and Soundview Photography. Its upper floor also has residential units. Nearby Drip Tea also has operated a Drip Tea Market retail shop in the building that neighbors the gay bar Union.
There were no reported injuries.
