Signal sequence changes at West Seattle Junction’s Walk-All-Ways intersection

(Newest image from California/Alaska traffic cam)
Thanks to the multiple readers who’ve messaged to report an unannounced change in the signal sequence at California/Alaska, the Walk-All-Ways intersectio. One of those messages laid it out this way:
I wanted to let you and your readers know that they’ve changed the order of the signal at the Alaska Junction again (at California and Alaska). The signal order used to be North/South, then West, then East. Now it’s East, and then West. I almost crossed the all-ways crosswalk after eastbound traffic because I was so used to the old way.
You might recall that SDOT changed the sequence in spring 2023 – then half a year later changed it back, saying the change was affecting bus reliability. We’ll follow up with them on Monday.
