Owner injured in carjack hit and run in First Hill bank parking lot
The vehicle’s owner was injured Wednesday after being hit by the vehicle as the thief fled the scene during a reported carjacking Wednesday morning in a First Hill bank parking lot.
Seattle Police and the Washington State Patrol were looking for the stolen Toyota SUV boosted in the just before noon heist.
Police were called to the area of the Key Bank parking lot near Minor and Madison around 11:20 AM to reports that a driver had hit a person and at least one parked car before fleeing westbound on Madison.
Arriving officers found the vehicle’s owner injured at the scene and learned they had tried to stop the thief from making off with the car when they were struck. Seattle Fire was called to render aid for what were reported as minor injuries.
Police and WSP were notified to be on the lookout for the blue Toyota Venza SUV and a suspect described as a black, heavyset male wearing a beige jacket.
The vehicle reportedly contained multiple phones but police were unable to track their location.
There were no immediate arrests.
