Firefighters responded and extinguished the fire before it spread to the rest of the building. About 30 minutes later, police responded to a report of a person lighting fires about a block away on 11th Ave. A bystander flagged down a Seattle police officer and reported someone had just lit a fire under a pickup truck.

When they located the suspect nearby, police say police they found a can of butane and a lighter in the suspect’s pocket.

Prosecutors says Tait has a history of fire-related incidents and was also arrested and charged with reckless burning in this October fire that damaged a unit in a Plymouth Housing building at 12th and Spruce.
