A Seattle Police Department SWAT vehicle and team were deployed across the plaza of Capitol Hill Station Friday afternoon as police took the suspect in Monday morning’s shooting outside a Pike/Pine nightclub into custody.

SPD reported the arrest hours later, following the 1 PM operation in which the alleged gunman was taken into custody inside an apartment building in the 100 block of Broadway E above the busy transit station.

CHS reported here on the 1:10 AM Monday morning shooting in which three people were shot during an altercation in front of the Cultura nightclub. Club ownership credited its newly hired security firm with helping to make sure people were safe in the aftermath of the gunfire.

Video showed a physical fight between two groups with club security attempting to intervene before a series of gunshots. Police say one of the people injured was involved in the fight while the other two people hit were bystanders.

According to police radio updates the night of the shooting, the suspect was identified by officers but was not immediately located.

SPD says the SWAT operation involved serving a search warrant and taking the suspect into custody at the apartment unit.

SPD says the suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
