Tsunami signage, coming soon. So is a West Seattle event with safety info you need

You see them everywhere out on the ocean coast – signage warning you you’re in a tsunami-danger zone, and where to go to get away if one is expected. Now Seattle’s shores are getting signage too, and you’re invited to a city-hosted event with what you need to know to be safe:

Join the Seattle Office of Emergency Management for a tsunami preparedness discussion! You’ll learn about local tsunami hazards, the new evacuation signs being installed across Seattle, how to spot warning signals, when to evacuate, and how to prepare at home. Workshops will be offered at library locations throughout the month, and OEM staff can also attend community meetings by request. RSVP is not required but encouraged.

The one in West Seattle, as shown in the image, is at 6 pm Thursday, September 17, at Delridge Library (5423 Delridge Way SW), and you can RSVP here.
