4:50 PM: Seattle Fire is arriving at a house fire in the 5600 block of 16th SW, just north of South Seattle College [vicinity map]. Firefighters report “heavy fire and smoke.” Updates to come.
4:55 PM: Smoke is visible from miles away. Firefighters have water on the fire as a first tep toward extinguishing it; they’re calling for a few more crews.
5:01 PM: The fire is reported to be under control. Northbound traffic on 16th is being diverted.
