A person was hit by a driver and trapped beneath the vehicle in a collision Monday night at Pine and Bellevue.
Seattle Police and Seattle Fire were called to the crash just after 8 PM and found one person trapped under the front axle of a Prius at the scene. Seattle Fire began a rescue extrication response. After being trapped .for about 20 minutes, the victim was reported extricated and being taken to the hospital with serious injuries,
Police were busy at the scene evaluating the driver. Earlier as the rescue began, police intervened as a companion of the victim was reportedly in an altercation with the driver over the crash.
The vehicle was reportedly traveling westbound at the time of the collision.
The incident shut down traffic in all directions during the response.
