‘MISSING BEAVER’ — Waxon spa’s toothy mascot goes missing on 15th Ave E

Thanks to a CHS reader for the picture and letting us know about the missing beaver

First the Pizza Man at Harry’s Bar went AWOL.

Now the Waxon Beaver has disappeared.

The 15th Ave E waxing salon Waxon has posted an urgent call for the return of its beloved mascot.

There is a $400 reward.

No questions asked.

“Our beloved family member is missing. We are heartbroken and need your help bringing them home,” the poster reads.

The disappearance marks the second time in recent years a neighborhood mascot has mysteriously vanished.

CHS reported here in 2024 as the pizza chef statue and specials and information board was stolen from inside 15th Ave E’s Olympia Pizza and Harry’s Bar. In that case, even security images of the shady characters suspected in the disappearance couldn’t reunite the bar with its missing mascot.

Waxon’s taxidermy and tongue in cheek totem has been flashing its toothy grin at passersby for years on 15th Ave E. It followed the salon as it moved a block north into its new digs in the Capitol Hilltop mixed-use building in 2024.
