WEST SEATTLE BOOKS: Pam Houston at Paper Boat Booksellers

(WSB photos)

An award-winning author came to Paper Boat Booksellers (4522 California SW; WSB sponsor) last night to talk with readers in person. Pam Houston read from her new book of essays, “Animals Taught Me Everything,” with a rapt audience filling the seats.

Our photographer observed that the gist of what Houston – who lives in rural Colorado – spoke of spotlighted a return to engaging more with direct natural experiences, against our overly digitized lives. Paper Boat, meantime, has another experience ahead, a midnight release party starting at 10:30 pm Monday for Sarah J. Maas‘s “A Court of Splintered Harmony.” No author appearance for this, but lots of fun planned.
