WEST SEATTLE SATURDAY: 29 possibilities!

Here’s our list of what to know as the second weekend of October begins, mostly from the WSB West Seattle Event Calendar:

RUN WITH WEST SEATTLE RUNNER: 8:15 am, get your weekend going with an at-your-pace run. (2743 California SW; WSB sponsor).

GET ‘HEAVILY MEDITATED’ FOR FREE: 8:45 am at Inner Alchemy Studio/Sanctuary (3618 SW Alaska), free meditation to start your weekend!

VACCINATION CLINIC: The series of flu/COVID vaccination linics at local schools that we previewed here begins today at Louisa Boren STEM K-8 (5050 Delridge Way SW), 9 am-4 pm.

YOUTH & ADULT VOLUNTEERING AT SCHMITZ PRESERVE PARK: Ages 10+ are welcome at Schmitz Preserve Park (5551 SW Admiral Way), 9 am-3 pm, to work on the park’s trails.

HELP ASSEMBLE HYGIENE BAGS: The Christmas People are in action early, welcoming volunteers 9 am to 4 pm at West Seattle Coworking (9030 35th SW) to put together “blessing bags” (hygiene items).

‘HOW TO LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE’: Fun, informative, free event aimed at seniors, caregivers, family members, as explained here – 9 am to 3 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe‘s gym (35th/Myrtle).

ALKI UCC AUTUMN FESTIVAL: Shop the Art Market, enjoy treats and baked goods, participate in activities, 10 am-4 pm at Alki UCC (6115 SW Hinds).

DELRIDGE FARMERS’ MARKET: Larger location this season, which ends October 31! 10 am-2 pm, shop for fruit and vegetables, prepared food and beverages, artisan body care, makers’ creations, more. (9th SW and SW Henderson)

DACHSHUND WALK: 10 am Saturdays, dachshunds and their people meet up at Alki Statue of Liberty Plaza (61st/Alki) for a group walk.

VISIT THE LOG HOUSE MUSEUM: 10 am-4 pm, at the Log House Museum (3003 61st SW), learn about West Seattle and vicinity hisstory!

MORNING MUSIC AT THE COFFEEHOUSE: 10:30 am-noon at C & P Coffee (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor), Marco de Carvalho and Friends perform. Info about Marco’s music is here.

FREE WRITING GROUP: The 10:30 am, free, in-person, active writing group is back – our calendar listing explains how it works and how to participate.

REVELRY ROOM SPINNING: 9 pm with Soul Focus FM. (4547 California SW)

SATURDAY NIGHT SKATING: 9 pm to midnight, skate at Southgate Roller Rink (9676 17th SW), with rotating DJs spinning old-school funk and hip-hop, $18 (plus $5 skate rental).
