White House lashes out at Senate GOP over stalled Small Business Administration nominee

by Haisten Willis, Staff Reporter

(WASHINGTON EXAMINER) White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre criticized Senate Republicans on Tuesday for “obstructing” the appointment of Dilawar Syed as deputy secretary of the Small Business Administration.

Syed, she said, would be the highest-ranking Muslim in the Biden administration if he were confirmed and has been endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, yet Republicans on the Senate’s small business committee refused to show up to a hearing on his nomination last week.
