“Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson is set to deliver her first State of the City address next Tuesday, laying out her approach to governance and her agenda for the year ahead,” her office announced. “The address will cover a range of issues, including affordability, homelessness, public safety, the Seahawks, and what she’s doing to make Seattle a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Wilson has spent her first weeks in office addressing issues around homelessness, housing, transit, and ICE including the first encampment clearances under her administration as she pushes the creation of new emergency shelter forward, efforts to address renters rights issues, an executive order to help speed up Route 8, and an order directing the city’s police force to “investigate, verify, and document” reported ICE activity in the city.
Wilson was sworn-in as the city’s 58th mayor in January, pledging to build a city where people can “live a dignified life.”
