Woman hit and killed crossing E Pine identified

The woman hit and killed by a driver while crossing E Pine Monday night has been identified.

The King County Medical Examiner says Lilliana Moreno died when she was crushed under the vehicle that struck her in the just after 8 PM collision.

Moreno was 27.

A memorial and flowers were left near the intersection of Pine and Bellevue where she died. “To Lilli,” one read.

CHS reported here on the crash in which police say a driver was turning right westbound onto E Pine at Bellevue when he struck Moreno as she crossed. SPD reports the man driving the vehicle was evaluated for drug and alcohol use and showed no signs of impairment.

Police also reported a disturbance at the scene following the crash possibly involving a companion of the victim in an altercation with the driver over the crash.

There were no arrests.

According to the medical examiner, Moreno was a Seattle resident.

The Seattle Department of Transportation collision map shows several crashes in recent years in the stretch of Pine near Bellevue but no serious incidents involving pedestrians.
