As reported here, SDOT recently did more work on the Alki Point “Healthy Street.” Now the department has announced work is ahead on the High Point “Healthy Street” too:
This fall, SDOT crews will be working on the Healthy Street signs along 34th Ave SW. This is part of our effort to make the signs sturdier and more resistant to wind and unpredictable weather conditions.
Crews will secure sign bases to the street over the coming weeks and months. The schedule is dependent on the weather and may change. During this work, you can expect:
-“No Parking” signs posted at least 72 hours before construction begins
-Work between 7 AM and 5 PM, on weekdays and/or weekends
-Parking restrictions in the work area
-Construction equipment and materials nearby
-Noise, dust, vibrations, and smells during constructionWhere you will see construction:
-SW Graham St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Holly St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Willow St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Myrtle St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Othello St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Webster St and 34th Ave SW
-SW Holden St and 34th Ave SW
This is part of what was West Seattle’s first “Stay Healthy Street” in the early months of the pandemic. In 2023, it was downsized.
