‘Singing, connecting, and showing gratitude’ — Dolly Parton vigil Friday night at the Capitol Hill Light Rail Plaza

Capitol Hill community space the AIDS Memorial Pathway plaza will host an Official Dolly Candlelight Vigil Friday night.

It’s not exactly clear what makes the vigil official but use of the space is being organized as part of the Cal Anderson Park Alliance’s efforts to bring more events to the plaza above Capitol Hill Station along E. Barbara Bailey Way.

Friday’s event will feature “singing, connecting, and showing gratitude to Dolly with other fans.” You can RSVP here.

From drag brunches, to dance remixes, to karaoke, Dolly Parton is an enduring Capitol Hill icon so expect the neighborhood tributes to continue.
