$pent Studios, ‘Seattle’s newest underpriced vintage store,’ is now open on E Pike

$pent Studios has moved up on Capitol Hill.

The thrift shop, fashion, and creative community brand had been growing underground a few blocks away on 12th Ave and is now resident in the heart of the party on E Pike where it has replaced a candle bar to become part of the block home to the Comet.

$pent, from Seattle-based clothing designer, artist, and vintage curator Hudson Wakefield operates as a hub for thrift fashion, streetwear, handmade and upcycled clothing, and art installations.

The vibe is collabs with Goodwill that slap, eat, and are extremely valid.

Beyond retail, $pent has functioned as an all-ages DIY creative space and venue with live music performances, art pop-ups, and community showcases.

$pent has also grown participating in local cultural events and festivals around the city, showcasing curated streetwear and vintage collections. There have been a few growing pains along the way.

Wakefield created $pent as a clothing brand and shop centered around turning upcycled, second-hand clothing into custom wearable artwork before eventually expanding into the 12th Ave space and, now, onto E Pike.

$pent Studios arrives on the street just in time for this summer’s Capitol Hill Block Party as organizers have moved the ticketed music festival to August. It joins a block with another purveyor of street fashion in the Sadō Room, the Drip Tea retail sibling that opened there in 2024.

$pent is part of a robust thrift, vintage, and consignment community around Capitol Hill including Break Away which started operating locations on both Pike *and* Pine last summer and Magpie Thrift that opened in the former Red Light space in 2025 on Broadway.
