The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office says 19-year-old Jamari McQueen has no prior convictions but has been charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and altering identifying marks of firearm in a separate misdemeanor case.
CHS reported here on how East Precinct officers recognized McQueen in video capturing the 1:10 AM shooting outside Cultura early on Monday, May 18th from his arrest just weeks before.
Police have not said how the suspect was later tracked to a nearby apartment building.
CHS reported here on Friday’s SWAT operation in the development above Capitol Hill Station in which the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspected teen shooter remains behind bars on $1.5 million bail.
The shooting appears to have been sparked by an altercation outside the club. Video showed a physical fight between two groups with club security attempting to intervene before a series of gunshots. Police say one of the people injured was involved in the fight while the other two people hit were bystanders.
Police say they later located McQueen’s ID on the first victim.
The victims in the shooting are recovering including at least one shot in the abdomen and wrist who remains hospitalized. The family of one of the victims is seeking the community’s help with medical expenses.
