A Seattle Police Department SWAT unit made a quick arrest during efforts to take a warrant suspect into custody at a Melrose Ave apartment building Monday morning.
Police were trying to determine if anybody else remained inside the unit after the first arrest.
SWAT officers and a BearCat vehicle were in place in the 1500 block of Melrose before moving on the suspect just before 11 AM.
According to police radio updates, one suspect was apprehended as he attempted to flee the building. Seattle Fire was called to the scene near the City Market to treat the suspect after he was hit by a Taser during the arrest.
Police remained in the area as they worked to determine if anybody remained in the suspect unit.
We’re asking SPD for more information about the situation and arrest and will update when we learn more.
